Szonja has pursued a BSc degree in Political Science at Leiden University, followed by a Master’s program in International Political Economy at King’s College London. She has experience working as a research assistant in an academic setting, furthermore, as a political analyst at a think tank. During her studies and her internships, Szonja has enjoyed applying a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods for solving complex problems within the field of economics and politics.
In her previous role, Szonja worked as an Enterprise Risk Specialist at a cryptocurrency exchange fintech, where she learned about the different applications of risk management strategies to prepare for unprecedented scenarios. This experience has designed her to mitigate risks in a highly volatile environment, developing a wide range of skillsets such as adaptability, decisiveness, and out-of-the-box thinking. She was primarily involved in developing an Enterprise Risk Management framework, including, among all, the establishment of a risk inventory on company-wide risks, defining the company’s risk appetite, and complying with relevant regulatory frameworks within the financial services sector. Moreover, within the scope of sustainable finance, Szonja has extensive knowledge of integrating ESG principles, sustainable solutions, and climate risk considerations into the company’s risk profile.
At Probability and Partners, Szonja works by applying her qualitative knowledge of risk management practices, to delve deeper in quantitative risk management as she advances in her career as a Junior Risk Consultant.
