Nirmal Muppiri

Risk Process Engineer

Nirmal has a combination of medical and quantitative finance academic background, with a bachelor’s in Liberal Arts & Sciences: Pre-Medicine Track, a year of zij-instroom geneeskunde at UMC-Locatie AMC, and a Masters Finance: Duisenberg Honours Programme in Finance and Technology. Before joining Probability & Partners, Nirmal worked for LOGEX Healthcare Analytics and Wawoe Ventures & Consultancy, performing an internship at DNB for his thesis. At LOGEX, Nirmal built containerized data applications using Python, deploying them into production using Docker and Kubernetes. He was also tasked with maintaining these applications through CI/CD. By doing so, he gained an in-depth knowledge of data engineering methods and principles. At Wawoe, Nirmal has performed feature-request implementation on dashboards used by small-scale (1-10m AUM) asset managers. At the Dutch Central Bank, Nirmal was part of the Data Science Hub, where he built a machine learning model to forecast the systemic risk contribution of equity markets. He also enjoys clarifying for stakeholders and introducing innovations that fit within existing frameworks. Next to work, Nirmal enjoys mountaineering and swimming in the Himalayas. Though on a typical Friday evening, you might find him in Café de Laurierboom enjoying a game of chess or reading non-fictional drama.

At Probability and Partners, Nirmal serves as the data specialist—he facilitates instrument upload into risk tooling, builds the P&P data warehouse, and works on scalable solutions to enhance risk management utility to clients.
