Measuring SDG impact of your portfolio

On November 12, our Head of Modelling Dr Svetlana Borovkova gave a Refinitiv webinar on “Measuring SDG impact of your portfolio”. Listen here to the recording of the webinar:

Listen to the recording to find out how:

  • Refinitiv ESG variables can be mapped into the sustainable development goals and view a demonstration of the challenges in measuring portfolio’s contribution to these goals.
  • These portfolios can be scored in relation to several specific SDGs and how these portfolios compare, in terms of SDGs contributions, to the main benchmarks such as S&P 500 and STOXX 600.
  • The portfolios can be improved in terms of SDGs without significantly changing their performance in terms of return, variance or diversification.
  • Analysis shows that SDG-focused investors do not necessarily compromise on performance, and in some scenarios they can expect an out-performance of their portfolios with respect to benchmarks.

Listen to Dr. Svetlana Borovkova discuss the mapping of Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) variables to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), so that a portfolio’s contribution towards these goals can be measured and improved. This is an important current issue, as many asset managers struggle with defining and implementing their own sustainability criteria in their investment process.
