Our company is composed of intrinsically motivated and helpful colleagues. The organization structure is flat and open. Colleagues are easy to access, and internal company meetings are open for each colleague to join, whether it discusses sales or the strategy of the company. We are welcoming to initiatives which help to grow the business. Our philosophy is that if you want to be involved, you can be involved. We believe that every colleague can make a significant and visible contribution to the firm. Aside from business, we value informal and personal contact among our colleagues. We aim to organize a social event every month and a drink every other week.
We aim to deliver work of excellent quality, but this should not be achieved through the neglection of our personal lives. We are proud of our work, while also valuing our family, friends, and personal interests. A healthy work-life balance is important. Therefore, we offer compensatory time for extra hours made during busy periods.
Probability & Partners offers a lot of flexibility in contracts, allowing you to combine work with other things in life. Contracts can range between 24-40 hours per week, and there is also room for leaves. Furthermore, colleagues work on external projects for at most 4 days per week, so you do not necessarily have to work on internal projects or business development in your own time. Lastly, Probability & Partners offers flexibility to work from home, depending on the preference of the client. On average colleagues spend one or two days per week at the client’s office. The remaining days can be spent either at Probability or at home, depending on your own preference.
Probability & Partners is an English-speaking company; our internal communication and documentation language are English. Our colleagues come from diverse backgrounds, including Russia, Aruba, China, Surinam, Ukraine, and South Africa.
Probability & Partners consists of multiple Service Lines covering a specific topic in risk management. Examples of Service Lines are Interest Rate Risk, Performance Measurement, and Model Validation. These Service Lines can span multiple sectors and are led by a subject matter expert. The Service Line Lead is responsible for all activities regarding a certain topic, ranging from sales to leading teams working on projects within the service line domain. If interested, we offer you the opportunity to develop a new Service Line at Probability & Partners. This allows you to become responsible for part of the consulting firm, stimulating personal development.
The accessibility of our senior- and partner staff is unique compared to our competitors. Frequent contact allows you to accelerate your development and knowledge of the financial industry. Regarding training there is no fixed budget; if the training is relevant and you can motivate its purpose you can do it.
We are looking for ambitious colleagues with at least 5 years of experience in risk management. New hires can be either permanent staff or associates. We like colleagues with a pragmatic attitude and the ability to ask and answer difficult questions. As a consultant it is important to be communicative and inquisitive. For our senior staff we are looking for people with experience with managing projects and stakeholders. In addition, we look for people with experience with sales and consulting, although this is not a hard requirement. Our internal communication is in English, so you should be highly proficient in spoken and written English. Knowledge of Dutch is not required to work at Probability & Partners.
I have been working at Probability as a risk management consultant since 2019. A nice club of people with many different expertise and backgrounds. Working at Probability is informal, we have short lines of communication, and we are pragmatic. Both pragmatic in the proposals we make for clients, as well as how we approach our work.
It is a very varied job. On the one hand, I help pension funds with their risk management and on the other hand, I am busy with projects, sales, and writing articles for Probability. That is also one of the nice things at Probability: you are not only working for customers but you are also involved internally in the company. For customers, the work differs. For example, I worked for clients for a long time to set up risk management and to draw up policy proposals. But I also do shorter advisory assignments, whereby we can be asked to identify areas for improvement for the customer.
The activities are a variety of meetings/conversations with customers, meetings with colleagues from Probability, assessing proposals and documents, writing reports and proposals, and writing columns.
